Welcome Back!

It's great to be back!

We have been working hard to get back into routines. Routines make our daily work that much easier to do. We have been making new friends, and learning a little about each other's cultures.

We have been practising our fire drills to make sure we can safely exit the building in the event of a fire.

We are participating in the Global Read Aloud. The premise is simple; we pick a book to read aloud to our students during a set 6-week period and during that time we try to make as many global connections as possible.

Why?  Global collaboration is necessary to show students that they are part of something bigger than them. That the world needs to be protected and that we need to care for all people. You can show them pictures of kids in other countries but why not have them speak to each other? Then the caring can begin.

We are reading the BFG by Roald Dahl.

We were quite relieved that the giant didn't eat Sophie!

Today we were learning about Bus Ridership, thanks to Bus Driver Bob!
